As part of the team, you will report directly to the Manager of Services and Operations. The Specialist Intervenor will offer essential guidance and assistance, aiding Deafblind clients in achieving greater independence and engagement socially. This role is geared towards those passionate about advocacy and support for the Deafblind community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support individuals with Deaf blindness in daily activities
• Facilitate opportunities for learning and informed decision-making
• Act as a sighted guide providing environmental assistance
• Collaborate with clients to ascertain their support needs
• Promote active community participation and connections
Requirements:
• Relevant degree or diploma in human services field
• Knowledge of Deaf blindness and intervention practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication proficiency
• Self-starter with a flexible approach to work
• Willingness to learn and apply alternative communication techniques
