Housing Support Worker at Jean Tweed

Become a pivotal support for women at Jean Tweed Centre. As a Housing Support Worker, you will empower women with substance use and mental health concerns through trauma-informed care and comprehensive support services.

In this full-time position, you’ll be integral to a multidisciplinary team focused on housing stability and community integration for women and gender-diverse individuals.

Your role emphasizes crisis intervention, harm reduction, and developing essential life skills. You will conduct wellness assessments and support clients in achieving personal goals related to health and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized, trauma‑informed support to residents

• Conduct wellness assessments and support planning

• Monitor mental health and substance use needs directly

• Respond effectively to crisis situations and de-escalate conflicts

• Collaborate with case managers and external service providers

Requirements:

• Diploma in Social Work or equivalent experience

• 3 years in Mental Health and Supportive Housing

• Knowledge of community health resources

• Crisis intervention skills, CPR certified

• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal abilities
