Become a Support Care Worker with Haven Toronto and make a difference in the lives of marginalized individuals. This casual role offers an opportunity to provide client-centered support in a welcoming environment.
Haven Toronto seeks a Support Care Worker to assist elderly homeless and socially isolated men. This position requires a post-secondary diploma in Social Services or related fields and emphasizes crisis intervention, mental health support, and community resource coordination. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will greet clients, handle inquiries, and ensure their needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome and register new clients for programs
• Conduct assessments of clients’ physical and mental health
• Document needs and consult with colleagues
• Assist clients in scheduling appointments
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma in Social Services or related field
• Knowledge of homelessness and mental health issues
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience in trauma-informed care
• Valid First Aid and CPR certifications
Support individuals in crisis and promote dignity through your role at Haven Toronto.
