In this relief position, you will join the Homeless and Harm Reduction team, focusing on the first floor and surrounding areas of the Health Centre. The role requires knowledge of social impacts on individuals, crisis intervention skills, and a strong ability to build rapport with clients facing various challenges. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients in navigating services, behavioral de-escalation, and providing backup to the Intake Worker.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a respectful and safe atmosphere for clients
• Assist clients in accessing programs and external resources
• Engage with individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges
• Provide behavioral de-escalation in crisis situations
• Perform scheduling and administrative tasks as needed
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree or relevant post-secondary education
• 3-5 years of community experience in health promotion
• Knowledge of harm reduction practices
• Proficiency in a language other than English is an asset
• Personal experience with drug use or homelessness preferred
