Position: Community-Based Mobile Counsellor Role
Join COSTI as a Community-Based Mobile Counsellor, providing essential services to refugees across York Region. Ideal for those passionate about helping vulnerable populations, this role is full-time and mobile.

This position, active until December 31, 2026, requires a Social Service Worker diploma and experience in case management. The successful candidate will travel to various sites, conducting assessments, and facilitating connections to resources for homeless asylum seekers, while employing anti-oppressive practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel daily to provide support at multiple locations

• Assess settlement needs and barriers for clients

• Develop and implement client-oriented settlement plans

• Offer supportive counselling and crisis intervention

• Document client interactions and prepare reports

Requirements:

• Social Service Worker diploma or related education

• Twelve months of relevant case management experience

• Thorough knowledge of York Region’s community resources

• Valid vehicle access for transportation needs

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
