Residential Counsellor

Position: Full-Time Residential Counsellor
Support individuals with developmental disabilities as a Residential Counsellor at FDH in Toronto, ON. Engage in life skills programming and promote independent living through hands-on support.

This full-time, contract position will focus on delivering comprehensive counseling and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnoses. Responsibilities include facilitating life skills, managing challenging behaviors, and ensuring a safe environment. Successful candidates will bring at least two years of experience in developmental services and a commitment to fostering positive community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized supports for daily living activities

• Facilitate life skills programming in home and community

• Coordinate community outings for safe participation

• Manage crisis situations using intervention techniques

• Provide clerical and administrative support as needed

Requirements:

• Post‑secondary diploma/degree in Social Services

• Two years of experience in Developmental Services sector

• Valid First Aid/CPR and CPI certifications

• Proficiency in MS Office applications

• Knowledge of community resources and legislation
