Indigenous Youth Counsellor

Position: Indigenous Youth Counsellor Role
Join as an Indigenous Youth Counsellor to deliver essential mental health support for children and youth. This full-time position emphasizes culturally appropriate practices and collaboration with community partners.

Your focus will be on providing individual and group counselling while integrating Indigenous teachings into mental health programs. You will participate in program development, case conferences, and efforts to ensure ongoing support for youth and their families. This position requires timely documentation and data compilation for program evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and family counselling sessions

• Coordinate services with community partners

• Maintain client records and case notes timely

• Implement and evaluate youth mental health initiatives

• Deliver crisis intervention and support case follow-ups

Requirements:

• BSW/MSW or equivalent qualifications

• Registration with a relevant professional college

• Familiarity with Indigenous health determinants

• Experience working with youth and families in mental health

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities
