Homelessness Caseworker

Position: Homelessness Caseworker at City
Join the City of Toronto as a full-time Homelessness Caseworker focused on preventative approaches to homelessness. Engage with vulnerable populations to avert evictions through dedicated case management support.

In the EPIC program, your role will involve assessing needs, making community referrals, and advocating for clients' benefits. You will be essential in facilitating housing security by connecting households with services, ensuring timely support in crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess eligibility for prevention services by phone

• Develop housing strategies to help clients sustain residency

• Manage referrals to City and external support services

• Maintain thorough records in automated systems

• Participate in case discussions to enhance service delivery

Requirements:

• Background in Social Services or equivalent experience

• Experience handling cases of at-risk clients

• Familiarity with applicable housing legislation

• Competence in MS Office Suite for data management

• Strong interpersonal skills for client interactions
