Advance your career with Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto as a Skills Development Counselor. This in-person role supports women in navigating their careers in construction through mentoring and training.
In this full-time position, you will support newcomer women in overcoming barriers to employment, especially in the construction field. You'll evaluate skills gaps and guide clients through the complex credential recognition process. This role requires expertise in specific training programs tailored for this underrepresented demographic.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support clients with credential recognition procedures
• Conduct assessments to identify training needs
• Facilitate workshops and one-on-one coaching
• Develop individualized action plans for career success
• Collaborate with credentialing bodies and partners
Requirements:
• Degree in Career Counseling or similar
• At least 3 years in workforce development
• Familiarity with challenges facing newcomers
• Understanding of educational equivalency processes
• Valid driver's license and vehicle access
