The Canadian Mental Health Association is looking for an Intake Coordinator for the Short Stay Crisis Program. The program offers 24‑hour on‑site residential support and short‑term case management services to individuals living with mental illness who have been involved with the criminal justice system. It operates at two sites in North York and Scarborough and includes the Toronto Safe Bed Registry.
Responsibilities
Serve as the initial contact for the Safe Bed Registry, either by phone or in person.
Manage the registry for the MHJ Safe Bed Network.
Initiate basic, non‑clinical client screening.
Assess requests made by the referral source and refer to appropriate resources.
Field incoming calls.
Enter and maintain data in the system.
Develop reports and maintain program statistics.
Develop and maintain relationships with other community agencies to enhance available resources for clients.
Maintain database information.
Perform and document follow‑up on services provided.
Carry out administrative duties and other program duties as assigned.
Work with a team to provide excellent service to consumers, families and other service providers.
Skills You Bring
Bachelor/College Diploma in Social Services or Business Administration.
Experience in community mental health, with knowledge of community programs and resources in the Greater Toronto Area.
Welcome and respectful approach to working with people.
Experience providing service for people with diverse backgrounds.
Thorough understanding of the resources and skills required to provide professional community information and referral.
Experience researching and helping people to find appropriate information.
Excellent assessment and communication skills.
Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office and client service databases.
Access to a car and a valid driver’s license is an asset.

Salary: $54,943 – $60,203.
