Community Outreach Worker at AWHL

Support survivors of gender-based violence as a Community Outreach Worker with the Assaulted Women’s Helpline (AWHL). Engage in community education, resource development, and crisis intervention to help those in need.

The Assaulted Women’s Helpline is looking for a Community Outreach Worker to enhance outreach and education efforts across Ontario. This role includes delivering workshops, building partnerships, and providing crisis line support. Candidates should have a background in community development, public education, and crisis intervention to effectively support survivors and older adults facing abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver educational workshops and sessions

• Represent AWHL at events and outreach activities

• Build relationships with community organizations and service providers

• Track outreach activities for program evaluation

• Provide scheduled crisis line support through multiple channels

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in a related field

• Minimum two years in community outreach or crisis intervention

• Knowledge of trauma-informed and survivor-centered practices

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Valid Ontario driver’s licence and vehicle access
