Social Worker in Emergency Care

As a Social Worker within the Emergency Department, you will deliver a full spectrum of social work services, including assessments and counselling. A commitment to patient-focused care is essential, along with proficiency in organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. With at least one year of hospital experience as an MSW, you will actively collaborate with the care team to enhance patient wellbeing during critical times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychosocial assessments for patients

• Engage in effective discharge planning

• Link patients to appropriate community resources

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members

• Guide and support social work students

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work required

• Minimum of one year of MSW experience in a hospital

• Good standing with the Ontario College of SW and SSW

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• CPI training is an asset
