Youth Reconnect Family Counselor Role

Covenant House is hiring a Family and Natural Supports Counsellor to enhance youth stability and prevent homelessness. This full-time position involves counseling and coaching for youth 12-18 and their families.

In your role within the Youth Reconnect initiative, you will engage with youth and their natural supports, providing essential counseling aimed at mitigating homelessness risks. You'll develop relationships to resolve conflicts and facilitate access to community resources like housing and mental health services. This position plays a crucial role in assisting vulnerable youth to thrive academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling and skill building for youth and families

• Build connections with families to achieve goals

• Conduct group activities and supportive workshops

• Collaborate with partners to enhance service delivery

• Maintain documentation for program evaluation

Requirements:

• Degree in counseling or relevant field

• At least 3 years of counseling experience

• Registered with CRPO or OCSWSSW

• Knowledge of youth issues and family dynamics

• Valid driver’s license preferred
