Youth Substance Use Counsellor in North York

At YMCA, you'll empower youth aged 14-24 through the Youth Substance Abuse program. Your position involves conducting assessments, offering brief solution-focused counselling, and educating community members. You'll also engage with youth agencies and develop community awareness about substance use services in the GTA.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide motivational interviewing and motivational counselling
• Conduct intakes and assessments for at-risk youth
• Deliver presentations to schools and community agencies
• Maintain accurate client case notes and statistics
• Raise awareness of YSAP services among community stakeholders
Requirements:
• S.W., B.A., or relevant diploma/experience
• Minimum two years working with at-risk youth
• Extensive knowledge of substance use strategies
• Training in 2
SLGBTQ+ and trans-positive practices
• Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle
