Engagement Specialist: Street Outreach Worker

Covenant House is hiring a full-time, permanent outreach worker to engage with youth in various community environments. Utilizing trauma-informed practices, your role will focus on meeting immediate needs and connecting youths to crucial support services. This position is integral in bridging the gap between crisis and long-term solutions for young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach in locations where youth gather

• Build relationships through empathetic engagement

• Provide crisis intervention and essential supplies

• Facilitate access to harm reduction services

• Guide youths through system navigation and referrals

Requirements:

• Diploma in Child & Youth Work or similar qualifications

• 2-3 years experience with vulnerable populations

• Strong understanding of youth issues

• Crisis de-escalation and risk assessment skills

• Proficient in documentation and case management
