Become a transformative presence in the lives of youth as a Full-Time Youth Outreach Worker with the YMCA of Greater Toronto. Facilitate social integration and personal growth through support and crisis intervention.
This role involves direct engagement with youth in a shelter context, ensuring their safety and promoting healthy development. You'll utilize your skills in supervision, crisis response, and community outreach to help marginalized individuals access vital services. Your proactive approach will contribute to building confidence and resilience among residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct initial screenings and supervise shelter residents
• Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling
• Develop programs focusing on social and life skills
• Ensure proper documentation of resident interactions
• Collaborate with colleagues for holistic support
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience
• Certified in First Aid/CPR and crisis intervention
• Familiarity with anti-oppression and trauma-informed care
• Strong organizational and communication skills
