Program Assistant (Casual)

Under the direction of the Program Manager/Program Coordinator, plans or participates in the planning of appropriate activities and providing high quality services to clients of the Day Program.

• Diploma in Social Work or Social Services, health sciences, activation, or equivalent
• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation is essential
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team player
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
• Recent certification in C.P.R.
• Recent satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result
• Fluency in English and ability to converse in Chinese
• Must be able to work across different Yee Hong sites as needed
• Successful applicants must provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.

• Participates in the planning of appropriate activities for clients of the program
• Implements and ensures the smooth operation of the activities in a safe, hygienic, and supportive environment
• Provides timely crisis intervention or behaviour management and ensures clients’ physical, social and emotional needs are appropriately met
• Provides timely support, information, referral, placement, and outreach to clients and volunteers to meet their social, recreational, and developmental needs
• Works closely with clients and caregivers to ensure appropriate design and ongoing monitoring of the care plan/program plan
• Ensures appropriate assessment, placement, matching, and support for volunteers
• Provides effective guidance, training, and support to volunteers in the program
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate files, records, and statistics on the program
• Maintains accurate records of fees and expenditures
• Complies with risk management policy for health and safety and infection control
• Keeps up‑to‑date with developments and best practices in the field

Other duties as assigned.

Some lifting and transferring required.

$22.52 - $26.49 per hour.
