Position: Part-Time Shelter Support Role
Help support vulnerable families as a Shelter Support Worker with Red Door. This temporary part-time position at a Gender-Based Violence Shelter requires strong client service skills and crisis management.

Red Door is looking for a dedicated Shelter Support Worker to assist residents in adjusting to their new environment. You will conduct emergency intakes, oversee cleanliness, and manage residence agreements, ensuring a safe space for everyone.

Your role involves organizing house meetings and liaising with maintenance to uphold service standards in the shelter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct emergency intakes for new residents

• Monitor daily living activities and behavioural issues

• Perform daily room cleanliness checks

• Facilitate weekly meetings to discuss resident needs

• Screen shelter visitors and manage common area use

Requirements:

• Related social services diploma or equivalent experience

• Understanding of social services in Toronto

• Capability to handle difficult situations calmly

• Initiative and teamwork orientation

• Strong oral and written communication skills
