Child Advocate at Boost CYAC

Become a Child Advocate with Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre in Toronto. This full-time role focuses on supporting children and youth during abuse investigations, requiring a strong background in crisis intervention and case management.

Boost CYAC seeks a dedicated Child Advocate to provide essential support and advocacy for clients attending the centre. This position involves a mix of day and evening shifts, emphasizing collaboration with police, child protection agencies, and mental health professionals. Understanding trauma is key, and the advocate will assess ongoing needs and provide referrals as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide education and support to clients during investigative interviews

• Greet families and explain processes upon arrival

• Offer virtual check-ins to address families' questions

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team for crisis intervention

• Assist in court preparation and provide support within the justice system

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent degree

• Three years of experience working with trauma victims

• Knowledge of anti-oppressive practices and cultural competency

• Familiarity with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act

• Clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process
