Join St. Michael’s Homes as a Community Worker in East Toronto, focusing on mental health and substance use support. This full-time position engages directly with program participants to facilitate essential services and create a welcoming environment.

As part of the East Toronto HART Hub team, you'll work collaboratively to assist participants in accessing food, bathrooms, and healthcare. Engage in crisis intervention, conduct intakes, and manage day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, welcoming space for individuals facing complex challenges.

Your role is pivotal in promoting recovery and building life skills in a supportive community environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open and close the center, ensuring safety and cleanliness

• Engage and supervise participants during program hours

• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed

• Implement and prepare program activities for participants

• Maintain statistical records and attendance logs

Requirements:

• College diploma in related field or equivalent experience

• Experience in mental health and addictions counseling

• Skilled in crisis management and de-escalation techniques

• Knowledge of low threshold service principles

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
