Transitional Housing Support Worker

Position: Transitional Housing Support Worker Needed
Become a Transitional Housing Support Worker with CMHA Toronto at Carlton House, where your expertise will directly improve the lives of refugees needing mental health and addictions support. This role is critical in fostering community integration.

You will work part-time under the guidance of management to provide critical support services. Engage with clients through various activities including group facilitation and crisis intervention. Your work will empower individuals as they navigate their paths in Toronto, backed by coordinated social care efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate direct mental health and addiction interventions

• Conduct orientation sessions for clients arriving at Carlton House

• Coordinate referrals for external specialized services

• Implement individual skill-building initiatives for clients

• Support meal preparation while ensuring safety standards

Requirements:

• College diploma in Social Work or related studies

• At least two years in direct client service roles

• Familiarity with crisis prevention and care techniques

• Experience in community outreach or settlement services

• Ability to engage with diverse groups compassionately
