Deputy Returning Officer Position

Step into a Deputy Returning Officer position with SCSU at UTSC, offering $19/hour. Work 6 to 12 hours per week through September to October 2026.

We are looking for two motivated UTSC students to assist in managing elections. This role requires strong organizational skills and impartiality, as you will work with the Chief Returning Officer and enforce election bylaws. Responsibilities include publicizing events, overseeing polling clerks, and reporting election outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Chief Returning Officer in elections

• Implement and enforce election bylaws

• Publicize election-related events effectively

• Oversee polling clerks and ensure their adherence

• Report findings and tally ballots post-elections

Requirements:

• Must be a student at the University of Toronto Scarborough

• Experience with election processes is advantageous

• Must not be a candidate in the current elections

• Efficient in managing tasks with little oversight

• Highly organized and punctual in response deadlines
