Make a difference at JVS Toronto as a full-time Employment Counsellor. This role focuses on providing essential pre-arrival employment supports to newcomers while fostering their career development.
Join our multicultural team in Toronto, offering a one-year maternity leave coverage. You'll conduct assessments, create Employment Action Plans, and provide labor market information. Your skills in coaching and resume assistance will empower clients to adapt to Canadian workplace culture while achieving program targets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct client intake and assessments for eligibility
• Case manage clients, providing employment counselling support
• Facilitate online job search workshops and presentations
• Assist clients with resume building and mock interviews
• Research and connect with potential referral sources
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field
• 1-2 years experience in employment counselling
• Knowledge of immigration issues and mentoring
• Proficient in online service delivery and technology
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
