Support youth through trauma-informed care as a part-time Youth Worker at Covenant House Toronto, working onsite day or evening shifts. Help address physical, emotional, and practical needs.
This permanent Youth Worker position serves residential-care programs at Covenant House Toronto. You will assess youth needs, support case plans, facilitate life skills, and connect clients with community resources. The role requires direct implementation of residential-care philosophy, mission, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess youth needs using a trauma-informed approach
- Support client plans with youth and Case Managers
- Facilitate life skills and recreational activities
- Provide daily support, counseling, and behavior management
- Complete case documentation, intakes, and discharges
- Child and youth work degree, diploma, or equivalent
- Two years’ shelter or residential experience using trauma-informed practice
- Knowledge of adolescent development and street-youth issues
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
