Software Development Bootcamp Instructor

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Software Development Instructor to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of industry‑ready software developers. The ideal candidates should possess a strong foundation in JavaScript (and MERN stack), full stack development and mobile development as well as some teaching/TA/training experience.

This position is open candidates based in Canada and is 100% remote. Software Bootcamp Instructor candidates should have full availability from 6:30‑9:00 pm Pacific Time or Eastern Time on Tuesdays and Thursdays for live online classes, plus 1 Wednesday per month for live online technical labs, as well as flexible time for marking assignments and preparing for lessons (estimated commitment is 10‑12 hours per week).

The next cohorts start in mid‑February and mid‑March and the programs run for 36 weeks.

• Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions, workshops, and hands‑on projects related to JavaScript based programming, full stack development and mobile development.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the software development curriculum, ensuring it remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry trends.
• Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their software development projects.
• Offer personalized tutoring and support to students, assisting them in overcoming challenges and optimizing their software development projects.
• Showcase proficiency in full stack software development.
• Share real‑world experiences, case studies, and insights from the software development industry to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors, industry professionals, and other departments to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and enhance the overall educational experience.
• Design, administer, and grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
• Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in software design to continuously enhance your own skills and instruction techniques.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the software development industry, with a proven track record of successful software development projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in software development principles, object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, programming design patterns and best practices in full stack development.
• Proficiency in latest full stack development technologies such as JavaScript, Node.js, React, No
  
  SQL, SQL, Cloud deployment (Server management, Docker, scaling etc.), Mobile development tools such as React Native and Flutter including the basic web development technologies such as HTML and CSS.
• Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
• Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
