Ruby on Rails Developer (Full Stack)

Overview
We are seeking a Ruby on Rails Developer to join a growing engineering team based in downtown Toronto . This role is backend-leaning but will involve full-stack development in practice. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Rails experience, is comfortable working across the stack, and can contribute immediately in a collaborative, in-office environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails
Build and enhance backend services, APIs, and business logic
Contribute to front-end development as needed (views, UI integrations, basic JS)
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features end to end
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications
Participate in code reviews and team discussions
Qualifications
2+ years of full-time professional experience as a software developer
Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails
Backend-focused development experience, with willingness to work full-stack
Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and web application architecture
Ability to work 3 days per week onsite in downtown Toronto
Nice to Have
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and MVC architecture
Exposure to cloud platforms or deployment pipelines
Experience working in Agile or startup-style environments
