The Opportunity At Pension

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who thrives in an environment where innovation never stops. In this role, you'll shape our API architecture, ensuring it remains robust, stateless, and scalable while enabling seamless customization for our clients. You'll work on designing high-performance RESTful services, drive technical strategy, and mentor a team of engineers, all while collaborating directly with clients to bring their vision to life.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will help redefine pension administration. If you're excited about building stateless APIs that balance structure with flexibility, we'd love to have you on board.
Key Responsibilities API Development:
Design, build, and maintain stateless RESTful APIs and web services with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
Architectural Leadership:
Drive key architectural decisions, with a strong emphasis on stateless microservices architecture and API-driven design.
Client
Collaboration:
Work closely with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions.
Team Mentorship:
Guide and mentor junior developers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented engineering culture.
Quality Assurance:
Participate in code reviews, enforce high-quality development practices, and ensure adherence to API design best practices.
Required Technical Skills Expertise in C# and .NET 8 is a must—proven experience in building and maintaining enterprise-grade applications.
Strong proficiency with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and the broader .NET ecosystem.
Experience designing and implementing stateless RESTful APIs and web services.
Deep understanding of microservices architecture, including containerized services and API-driven design.
Frameworks & Databases:
Primary: C#/.NET 8, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, .NET Identity
Experience with EF Core for ORM
Strong experience with SQL Server or MySQL for high-performance data management.
Familiarity with No
SQL databases such as Mongo
DB or Cosmos DB is a plus.
Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications Expertise in implementing secure cloud architectures, vulnerability management, and compliance with industry standards.
Experience with Dev Ops practices and tools like Azure Dev Ops, Git Lab CI, or Git Hub Actions.
Performance tuning and monitoring of cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Advanced
Skills:
Meaningful open-source contributions or certifications in cloud technologies, microservices, or .NET frameworks.
Experience with Minimal APIs in .NET 8 for building efficient, high-performance stateless web services.
Strong understanding of API design best practices, including RESTful principles, versioning, and documentation.
Knowledge of message brokers like Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or Rabbit
MQ.
Domain Expertise:
Familiarity with pension and benefits systems, compliance standards, and industry regulations.
Secondary:
Experience in F# is a bonus.
Familiarity with React and Next.js, as these are our primary frontend technologies.
