As a Junior Software Engineer, the incumbent will work closely with the Senior software Engineers and Solutions Architects on enhancement, projects and BAU activities related to revolving credit products.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Develop and maintain revolving credit applications including BAU, Intake and Projects.
Work on strategic technology initiatives, including cloud migration, database upgrades, and enhancements to monitoring and observability tools.
Define and enforce best practices including coding standards.
Drive experimentation and optimization through proof of concepts and other means.
Maintain system protocols and documentation to support operational excellence and risk management.
Proactively troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal customer impact and timely, effective remediation.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
Strong proficiency in Java, with hands‑on experience in the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring MVC).
Experience in designing and developing APIs.
Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgre
SQL, IBM DB2) and No
SQL databases (e.g., Mongo
DB).
Good understanding of Scotiabank’s Customer Experience Center platform and Cloud platform (Azure, GCP).
Good understanding of Credit Card Processing.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Proven experience in designing and deploying real‑time solutions in a financial services environment.
