Story Behind the Need
Business group:
Client Engineering - Mobile and Web - part of the Scotia Digital Group, focusing on Mobile Web application to all BNS customers. Our team is designed to deliver products throughout the client’s journey;

UI platform.
Project:
New BSA role for the iWay initiative.
Legacy system decommission program. Building the replacement UI flows on the front end (customer facing)

Reason:
New position for a BSA on the iWay initiative.

Candidate Value Proposition:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn a lot not only from the technology side of things, but also the higher-level overall business side. The candidate will likely be extended based on performance and funding. They will have the chance to work from the get-go on a new feature for a web banking application;ability to work with different teams and follow a squad model.

Must have skills:
1) 10+ years of progressive experience as a Business Systems Analyst
2) 3-5 years of recent experience as a BSA in banking
3) 7+ years’experience with web applications and end-to-end UI flow
4) 3-5 years of Agile experience
5) Demonstrated story writing experience in JIRA/Confluence

Nice to have:
1) Canadian banking experience
2)

Experience with Figma and design tools
3) Refinement, story pointing experience
4) Computer science background

Soft Skills Required:
- Excellent communication skills
- Collaboration skills to be able to work effectively in a team environment, working with many different roles and group involved

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field

Best VS. Average Candidate:
Best candidate will be an experienced BSA will be working on their own so need to be strong in all aspects (no other BSAs on project);experience with web applications and end-to-end UI flow meaning not only with back-end/integration –need to be able to understand both the front end and back end, and Architect high level experience is helpful;has recently worked on API services projects ideally within FI/banking, has used Jira and Confluence, knows how to work in and Agile framework.
