Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Java Developer with 8–10 years of hands‑on expertise in building high‑performance backend systems, APIs, and microservices. The ideal candidate will have strong Core Java fundamentals, extensive experience with Spring Boot–based microservices, and a solid understanding of concurrency, integration patterns, and JVM performance tuning—preferably within Capital Markets or Investment Banking domains.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development & Architecture
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Core Java 8+.
- Implement multithreaded and concurrent processing modules for high‑throughput applications.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and integration endpoints across distributed systems.
Develop scalable microservices using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Write robust unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and related testing frameworks.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing.
Performance & Troubleshooting
- Conduct performance tuning, JVM optimization, and memory analysis.
- Troubleshoot production issues using logs, profilers, and debugging tools.
- Dev Ops & Integration
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and artifact management tools (Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, Git, Maven/Gradle).
- Integrate backend services with relational databases and messaging platforms.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Core Java, OOP concepts, Collections, Streams, and Lambdas.
- Solid hands‑on experience with multithreading, concurrency, executors, and locking mechanisms.
- Deep understanding of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and dependency injection.
- Strong SQL skills, including relational schema design and query optimization.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs, working with JSON, serialization/deserialization.
- Working knowledge of Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops.
- Understanding of JVM internals, garbage collection, and performance tuning strategies.
- Experience with logging frameworks such as SLF4J, Logback, Log4j2.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments.
- Exposure to Java API management or enterprise API gateway solutions.
- Familiarity with microservices in high‑volume, low‑latency environments.

Skills:
• Work with project teams throughout the organization to design, implement, and manage CDN infrastructure using Akamai, to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability for customer facing applications and business processes.
• Handle multiple priorities and assignments with excellence and precision.
• Be a part of a 24/7/365 organization (some after hours support is expected as part of normal on-call rotation).
• Directly support line of business development teams, provide guidance to them on implementation and changes for customer facing applications
• Develop and maintain security protocols and measures to protect CDN infrastructure from cyber threats.
• Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving issues to optimize content delivery of critical applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Akamai CDN solutions with existing systems and applications.
• Collaborate with information security teams to implement DDoS protection strategies and other security measures in the CDN.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams regarding CDN and security best practices.
• Work closely with vendor and professional service teams on delivery related activities and strategy.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. OR similar work experience.
• Strong understanding of network protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP).
• Proven experience as a CDN Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
• In-depth knowledge of Content Delivery Network technologies, including caching, load balancing, and content optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience supporting 24/7/365 customer facing applications at enterprise scale.
• Awareness and experience with cybersecurity tools and practices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are a plus but not required.
