Senior Development Manager
Summary:
Senior Software Development Manager, Payments – Lead and grow a team focused on Clio's payments, capital and financial services portfolio. This role is based in Toronto and requires a minimum of two days a week in the office.
For Senior Software Development Managers this means coaching a team, partnering with senior leadership to define long‑term strategy, and being highly technical, often coding alongside the team.
What You’ll Work On:- Deep‑dive into the technology and code to get things done and help teams understand what is possible.
- Lead a growing team focused on Clio's payments, capital, and financial services portfolio.
- Guide technical strategy for innovative projects, including launching new financial services for law firms in North America and internationally.
- Directly supervise, mentor, and collaborate with engineering managers and individual contributors.
- Partner with Product Management and Product Design to envision, develop, and execute the product roadmap.
- Work closely with Recruiting/People to actively recruit and hire top talent to support growth.
- Experienced engineering leader comfortable with spec‑driven development and running autonomous pipelines to production.
- Background in fintech with direct experience in payments and financial services.
- Adept at making critical technical decisions to guide the team and ensure long‑term system health.
- Proven track record in scaling services and systems built for scalability.
- Skilled at managing and mentoring high‑performing teams, nurturing talent and guiding professional growth.
- Experienced in crafting long‑term strategies and managing technical roadmaps for future growth.
- Successful in running agile organizations at scale with a sense of urgency to deliver quality software.
- Demonstrated experience promoting positive culture and diversity throughout a large engineering organization.
- Growth mindset toward process improvement and new technologies, especially AI.
The expected salary range is $192,000 to $288,000 CAD, with a variable pay component based on company performance, paid quarterly. Additional benefits include:
