Role: Mobile Test Automation Engineer
Duration: 12 months
Location:
Toronto
Work Style: Hybrid (4 days a week in office)
Mobile Automation & Testing
Design, develop, and maintain Appium-based automation frameworks for iOS and Android applications.
Automate functional, regression, smoke, and sanity tests for mobile apps.
Validate UI/UX behavior, device compatibility, OS versions, gestures, permissions, and accessibility standards.
Execute and stabilize mobile tests across emulators, simulators, and real devices.
Automation Framework & CI/CD
Enhance reusable automation components using Java + TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle.
Implement Page Object Model (POM) and maintain clean, modular test architecture.
Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops or equivalent).
Monitor test execution results, flakiness, and coverage; continuously improve reliability.
API & Integration Testing
Design and execute API automation tests using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
Validate REST APIs for request/response, authentication (OAuth/JWT), error handling, and data integrity.
Support end-to-end test scenarios combining mobile + API + backend validations.
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
Collaborate with developers and product teams to define test strategy, acceptance criteria, and quality gates.
Raise and track defects using JIRA with clear reproduction steps and closure tracking.
Provide transparent quality status and risk indicators to stakeholders.
Quality & Governance
Apply automation-first and shift-left testing practices.
Maintain alignment with risk, security, and compliance standards.
Continuously improve test coverage, defect leakage, and release readiness metrics.
Required Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Automation
Strong Appium experience for iOS & Android
Proficiency in Java and TestNG/JUnit
Strong API automation experience (Rest Assured / Postman)
CI/CD experience (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops)
Agile/Scrum experience
Strong debugging and analytical skills
