Senior Software Developer in Test

Overview

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Software Developer in Test for a Retail Technology client in Toronto, ON. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable, and defect-free solutions across our core platform and client-facing applications. Working within an agile team, you will help build scalable and reusable solutions aligned with our technology roadmap. This role is a mix between software development and QA, ideally started career as a Software Developer and then moved into Test.

• Design and execute comprehensive testing strategies across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Support the full QA lifecycle from test planning through defect resolution.
• Hands-on role focused on improving test coverage, strengthening automation, and ensuring consistent application of quality standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of experience in software development and quality assurance
• Strong programming skills in Typescript, Python, Java, C, C++, or similar languages
• Proven hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude, Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, or similar to support test generation, coverage analysis, and automation workflows
• Experience building and maintaining reliable and scalable test automation frameworks
• Solid understanding of functional, integration, system, and performance testing
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, K6 or similar
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and modern service architectures

• Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with database systems, data warehouses, and OLAP technologies
• Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working in Agile environments

Pay range for this role is between $95k/yr - 105k/yr CAD.
