Job Title Java Backend (Spring Boot + Kafka) –

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Java Backend Developer to support a major banking client in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with modern backend technologies and cloud‑native development practices. You will be part of a dynamic team driving innovation and delivering scalable solutions in a fast‑paced financial setting.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Implement caching strategies with Redis and manage data persistence using Mongo
DB and MS SQL
Integrate and manage messaging systems using Kafka
Deploy and manage applications on Open Shift and Kubernetes
Collaborate using Git Hub for version control and CI/CD pipelines
Contribute to Dev Ops practices and pipeline automation (experience with Helios is a plus)
Participate in code reviews, testing and production support
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions
Required Skills Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
Experience with Redis, Mongo
DB and MS SQL
Familiarity with Kafka for event‑driven architecture
Hands‑on experience with Open Shift and Kubernetes
Proficient in Git Hub and CI/CD pipeline tools
Understanding of Dev Ops principles and tools
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in the banking or financial services domain
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Compensation Base salary: $85,000 – $90,000 per year in Toronto. Additional variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions may apply.
