Founding Software Engineer - AI SaaS Startup

This early-stage startup is building AI-driven tools for small and mid-sized businesses, focused on automating customer interactions and operational workflows. The product is already in market across North America, with active usage and strong early feedback.

The founding team brings experience from scaling consumer and enterprise products across engineering, product, and go-to-market functions. They are operating lean, shipping quickly, and iterating directly with customers.

This is a founding engineering seat with broad ownership across product and infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for building core systems end-to-end, shaping technical decisions early, and working closely with both founders and users to translate real-world needs into product.

• Build and iterate on the core web application, enabling customers to manage and monitor the product in real time
• Develop backend services and APIs to support core product functionality and integrations
• Design and maintain data models, including schema design, migrations, and analytics structures
• Implement pipelines for transcription, language processing, and automated summarization
• Work directly with early users and founders to refine workflows and improve the product experience

• 7+ years of experience building and shipping web applications across frontend and backend
• Solid backend experience in at least one language (e.g. Python, Go, Ruby, Java)
• Hands‑on experience designing relational databases and building REST or Graph

• Comfortable working independently and collaborating with non-technical stakeholders in a fast-moving environment

You’ll be joining at the earliest stage of a product that is already live and being used by customers, with direct influence over both the technical direction and user experience. The role offers full ownership across the stack, close collaboration with experienced founders, and the opportunity to build AI-driven systems that are actively shaping how businesses handle customer interactions.
