Develops scalable and accessible business cloud applications. Focuses on the technical design, development, enhancement, testing, debugging and maintenance of Cloud applications and supports the design of business processes in the cloud. Applies expertise and in-depth understanding of managed services environments, next‑generation databases and developer tools. Migrates existing applications to the cloud, modifies existing applications for the cloud, or builds new cloud‑native applications.
Responsibilities- Creates and maintains various applications using different programming languages.

- Designs, configures and implements cloud‑native software to solve business problems using cloud technology.
- Maintains applications and infrastructure for cloud‑based platforms.
- Supports creation of strategies to enhance performance of existing cloud technologies.
- Develops workflows and processes following best practices and cloud architecture.
- Understands specific cloud resources, services, architectures and SLAs to create scalable and extensive software products.
- Creates instructions for cloud computing operations and documentation.
- Establishes a development environment and continuous integration pipeline. Utilizes modern application patterns and code efficiency.
- Translates user needs into technical specifications by understanding, conceptualizing and facilitating technical requirements from users.

- Typically between 5–7 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo
DB, S3, ECS/EKS) and designing scalable, serverless, event‑driven architectures. - Proficient in Node.js development with solid experience building and maintaining high‑performance APIs and microservices.
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Cloud Formation, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Code Pipeline).
- Good understanding of API design (REST, OpenAPI) and backend best practices (modular design, testing, performance tuning).
- Strong knowledge of AWS security (IAM, encryption, VPC, secrets management) and cloud best practices.
- Experience with monitoring and observability (Cloud Watch, logging, alerting) and system reliability.
- Solid Dev Ops mindset with focus on automation, deployment strategies and operational excellence.
- Proven technical leadership with experience in solution design, code reviews, mentoring and Agile delivery.
- Familiarity with AI/ML and Generative AI concepts and their application in enterprise systems.
- Experience building or integrating AI‑powered solutions.
- Knowledge of LLM integration patterns (prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases).
- Experience working with AI services such as AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Azure AI or similar platforms.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data privacy, bias mitigation and model governance.
- Ability to identify opportunities to embed AI capabilities into APIs and platform services.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
