Senior Software Engineer

Your role:

We are seeking a Senior Software Application Engineer to lead the architectural evolution of some of our most critical business systems. In this role you will analyze existing system and data design, identifying critical areas for optimization—spanning scale, performance, resilience, and cost—and lead efforts to execute that vision.

• You have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field
• You have at least 6 years of experience in backend or full‑stack development
• You have a deep knowledge of AWS or another large cloud computing environment
• You have strong distributed systems skills: how to make things fast and scalable, how to measure them (e.g., latency, throughput)
• You have strong operational excellence best practices: testing, monitoring, paging, and incident management
• You have a strong understanding of developing APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and data warehousing
• You have built or developed large‑scale data processing pipelines and/or large, high‑availability dimensional data stores
• You have a high sense of ownership and a drive to deliver impact in a fast‑paced, evolving, ambiguous environment
• You have experience building projects with good abstractions and clean architecture
• You have strong debugging skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues
• You have a drive to grow, learn, and master the craft of software development

$112,000 - $152,000 a year

This position offers a base salary of $112,000 - $152,000 CAD. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a performance‑based annual bonus.
