We are seeking a Senior Application Developer to join a dynamic and collaborative team responsible for designing, developing, and supporting complex enterprise applications. This role focuses on building and enhancing large-scale, database-driven systems within a modern web development environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in architecting, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable applications, while contributing to technical strategy, solution design, and project delivery. This position requires strong full‑stack development expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work across cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑impact technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, architect, and develop complex, enterprise‑grade applications
- Analyze and recommend software architecture and technical solutions for complex IT challenges
- Develop, test, and maintain high‑quality, scalable, and secure code
- Evaluate and enhance existing applications to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Design and implement database solutions using MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
- Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and best practice standards
- Develop technical implementation plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Lead and support IT projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and system issues
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards
- Support application deployment, testing, and release management processes
- Contribute to cost estimation, feasibility analysis, and solution planning
- Maintain documentation for architecture, code, and system processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in application development and programming
- Strong expertise in PHP and Laravel, with solid understanding of MVC architecture
- Proficiency in front‑end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Vue.js or React preferred)
- Experience designing and managing relational databases (MySQL, Postgre
SQL) - Hands‑on experience with version control systems such as Git
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and working with API integrations
- Strong understanding of application security best practices
- Experience writing unit tests and ensuring code quality (e.g., PHPUnit)
- Experience optimizing application performance and scalability
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure (AWS/GCP considered an asset)
- Experience working in Agile or similar development environments
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops and/or Service Now
- Experience in large, complex enterprise environments (e.g., higher education or similar)
