Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Ownr is on an ambitious mission to help Canadian entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses by providing a platform that simplifies the registration and ongoing maintenance of sole proprietorships and corporations. We are looking for a talented leader to join the Ownr team as a Senior Software Engineer1
.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor and maintain significant portions of our fast‑moving Node/React‑based application.
• Lead and mentor other engineers, exercising technical leadership and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Plan, architect and deliver reliable, scalable, and highly available solutions that support our users.
• Participate in product planning, design, and roadmap discussions with product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Improve technology continuously, reduce technical debt, and advocate best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, ensure quality through automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops to provision and configure cloud infrastructure (AWS services such as Rabbit
  
  MQ, Redis, S3, etc.).
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and support post‑production incident response.

• 5+ years of solid hands‑on programming experience, primarily in JavaScript/Type Script, Graph
  
  QL, React, CSS, and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Experience building, monitoring, and maintaining highly available, scalable, and resilient software.
• Proven leadership experience: leading development teams, mentoring junior developers, and working with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) and CI/CD practices (Git/Git Hub, Git Hub Actions).
• Dev Ops experience with cloud computing, particularly AWS, and familiarity with containerization, monitoring, and security best practices.
• Understanding of web/application security and data privacy requirements.
• Excellent communication, time‑management and project‑management skills.
• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with cloud‑agnostic architecture and evaluating varying development workflows and methodologies.
