Lead Software Engineer, Progress ABL
Location:

Responsibilities- Take ownership and lead project deliveries through effective cross‑team collaboration.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Product, QA, and Dev Ops.
- Optimize existing ABL code for performance, maintainability, and reliability.
- Lead code reviews and enforce best practices.
- Act as a single point of contact for providing timely resource and project updates.
- Mentor and coach developers of all levels of experience.
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience with Progress ABL / Open Edge technologies (e.g., App Server, Web Speed, PAS for Open Edge).
- Experience working with Progress Character UI (ChUI) in Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with XML and JSON processing in conjunction with REST APIs.
- Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.
- Exposure to enterprise tools such as Service Now, Jira, and SharePoint.
- Solid understanding of SDLC processes, Agile methodologies (SCRUM), and Release/Change Management practices.
- Solid adherence to development standards and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted development and automation concepts, with a keen interest in improving engineering efficiency.
- Experience with Visual Studio Code is an advantage.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000
