QA Automation Engineer – Python, web​/mobile testing

JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Duration: 4 Months

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for an QA Automation Engineer - Python, web/mobile testing to design and implement mock server frameworks to simulate backend APIs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites for mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications
• Expand UI, API, and end-to-end test coverage with focus on:

• Improve automation scalability, maintainability, and execution efficiency
• Collaborate with developers to ensure testability and early defect detection

• Design and implement mock server frameworks to simulate backend APIs
• Reduce dependency on unstable or unavailable backend systems
• Enable consistent, parallel testing workflows across teams
• Improve downstream system isolation and resilience of QA environments

• Enhance UAT and test environments for stability, scalability, and availability
• Implement solutions for:

• Ensure secure and compliant handling of test data
• Support environment provisioning and automation

• Partner with development teams supporting iOS modular architecture transformation
• Validate migration to multi-module architecture:

• Ensure automation support aligns with evolving architecture and UI frameworks
• Update testing strategies to accommodate modern iOS frameworks and patterns

• 5–7 years of experience in software testing and automation engineering
• 5+ years of Strong proficiency in Python (mandatory) for test automation frameworks
• 3+ years of recent Hands‑on experience in native iOS/Android mobile app testing
• 3+ years of recent Hands‑on experience in Web application testing
• Experience with:

• Strong understanding of:

• Experience with mock servers and service virtualization

• Experience with mobile/wed automation tools/frameworks:

• Strong proficiency in Java Script
• Familiarity with:

• Experience supporting modular/mobile architecture transformations
• Previous experience with Tob Banks / FI is nice to have

• Demonstrated leadership skills and critical thinking
• The ability to manage multiple concurrent, high priority initiatives with senior audiences
• A focus on results with strong interpersonal, problem‑solving & stakeholder management skills
• Strong negotiation & influencing skills to engage and influence stakeholders collaboratively at all levels of the organization
• Effective written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation capabilities

• A post‑secondary degree or relevant experience
