Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer (Java/JEE & Python) to support RBC’s Group Risk Management technology initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise applications and borrower criteria models that support critical risk management functions across the organization.

The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, including solution design, coding, testing, performance tuning, production support, and technical documentation. This individual will collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, QA teams, and other technology partners to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

• Bachelor’s degree + 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong background in Java / JEE development
• Proven experience designing and building Microservices and REST APIs

3+ years of Python development experience

1+ year of JavaScript experience (React, Angular, Vue.js, or Node.js)

• Strong experience writing clean, maintainable code
• Experience with unit and integration testing
• Exposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, Claude Code)

• Solid understanding of integration patterns and design patterns
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments

• Experience with Jira and Confluence

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
