You will lead the development and evolution of our frontend platform, driving both team execution and the broader technical direction of the UI across the product. This role combines hands‑on engineering with team leadership and org‑wide influence.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of frontend engineers, owning delivery, execution quality, and technical direction
- Own complex frontend systems and features end‑to‑end, from design through long‑term production health
- Drive org‑wide initiatives across design systems, application performance, and frontend technical standards
- Define and evolve frontend architecture to support scalability, reliability, and rapid product iteration
- Establish and enforce high standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Identify and resolve systemic performance and reliability issues in production
- Build and scale interactive, data‑heavy applications and AI‑driven workflows
- Partner with design, backend, and AI/ML teams to shape product direction and user experience
- Guide long‑term UI technical strategy and key architectural decisions across teams
- Operate as a technical leader for frontend across the team and contribute at the org level
- Own outcomes, not just implementation, including system health, performance, and developer productivity
- Drive large, ambiguous initiatives with cross‑team dependencies and no predefined solutions
- Set direction for frontend architecture and influence decisions beyond your immediate team
- Build and maintain scalable systems that other engineers and teams depend on
- Raise the bar for engineering quality, performance, and accessibility across the organization
- Mentor and develop engineers, including setting standards and holding the team accountable
- Proactively identify gaps in the frontend platform and lead efforts to address them
- Expertise in React and Type Script, including architectural decision‑making at scale
- Proven experience leading frontend teams or acting as a technical lead on complex systems
- Track record of owning and delivering large‑scale, production‑critical frontend systems
- Experience driving cross‑team or org‑level initiatives (e.g., design systems, platform work, performance improvements)
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance tradeoffs, and scalability challenges
- Experience integrating complex systems via GraphQL and/or REST APIs
- Demonstrated ownership of codebase health, system reliability, and engineering standards
- Ability to operate independently and drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams
- Experience with Next.js or similar frameworks in production at scale
- Experience working in monorepos and large shared codebases
- Experience building AI‑powered or data‑intensive products
- Familiarity with frontend observability and performance tooling
- Strong product sense and ability to balance technical and user experience tradeoffs

For this role, the base salary range is $154,000 - $205,000 CAD. Actual offers are determined based on job‑related skills, experience, demonstrated capabilities, and work location. We typically hire within the range in a way that supports long‑term growth, recognizing that compensation evolves as scope, performance, and impact expand over time.
