Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer (Java, Angular & Cloud) to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications. This role combines hands‑on engineering, architecture ownership, and team leadership, driving the delivery of modern, cloud‑native solutions.

You will play a key role in building microservices‑based applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular, while guiding technical decisions across AWS/Azure environments. The role involves mentoring engineers, ensuring delivery excellence, and promoting best practices across development, Dev Ops, and system design.

As part of a forward‑looking engineering team, you will also help drive AI‑assisted development (Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality, while contributing to the evolution of scalable, resilient platforms.

We're looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to drive the design and delivery of scalable, cloud‑native applications. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll combine architecture ownership, coding, and team leadership to build modern, high‑performance systems.

You'll work across the stack using Java (Spring Boot) microservices and Angular, while leading key technical decisions in AWS/Azure environments. Beyond development, you'll mentor engineers, enforce best practices, and accelerate delivery through Dev Ops and AI‑assisted tools like Copilot.

• Lead end‑to‑end architecture and design of scalable, cloud‑native full stack applications
• Develop hands‑on using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular (Node.js a plus)
• Own technical decisions across architecture, design, and technology selection
• Mentor engineers and drive code quality through reviews and best practices
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
• Drive cloud and Dev Ops adoption across AWS, Azure, or Open Shift environments
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions
• Promote AI‑assisted development (Copilot)
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability
• Own delivery timelines, risks, and dependencies
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace
• Drive automation, innovation, and reduction of technical debt

• Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) in full stack environments
• Hands‑on experience with Angular (Node.js a plus)
• Experience designing and building cloud‑native applications
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Open Shift
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Git Hub Actions
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk or Dynatrace
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery
• Solid communication and stakeholder management skills

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD $74,000 and $117,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business‑related and job‑necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual performance‑based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
