As part of eBay's team, you will bring over a decade of software development experience to enhance Spark’s performance and stability. This role emphasizes managing internal metadata services while troubleshooting production issues to ensure high availability. Key Responsibilities:
• Enhance Spark stability, usability, and performance metrics
• Extend Iceberg capabilities for improved data handling processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively
• Maintain consistent system monitoring, logging, and alerts
• Build and manage internal storage and metadata services
Requirements:
• Over 10 years of software development experience in Java or Scala
• Strong understanding of Apache Spark internals
• Familiarity with data file formats, including Parquet and Iceberg
• Competency in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
• Knowledge of networking principles and distributed systems
