Overview
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – ATM, POS & Card Apps Laboratories for RBC Caribbean Technology. The role is based in the Caribbean Banking Market or remotely in Canada, where the successful candidate resides. The SDET will lead testing, automation processes, methodology, test strategy and the continuous improvement of test delivery.
Responsibilities- Drive quality by leveraging automation for early defect detection and improve overall test delivery.
- Design, build, and enhance a scalable, robust BDD‑based automation framework and related test cases.
- Create and maintain automated test plans, test suites, traceability matrices, and model optimizations for ATM, POS, card issuing and acquiring applications.
- Execute automated test runs, drive coverage maximization, and support all project deliverables across functional and non‑functional testing.
- Communicate automation reports and metrics to project stakeholders from initiation to close.
- Coach team members on automation framework, Dev Ops practices, processes, and tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions and implement full‑stack test and automation interfaces.
- Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree or diploma.
- 2–4 years of active software engineering and test automation coding experience.
- Experience testing ATM, POS terminals, card and payment systems, and banking functionality.
- 1–2 years of web application testing, file validation, API and database testing, and test automation.
- Strong test case design skills at component, integration, mobile, and end‑to‑end levels.
- Hands‑on scripting with Perl, Python, Bash, or similar.
- Experience with ISO
8583, NCR APTRA, IBM MQ, Python, Java, BDD, Cucumber, Selenium/UFT, Rest Assured, Robot Framework, TestNG, Jenkins, Microservices, APIs, Wire Mock, Postman, Swagger, Maven/Gradle, Git, and Git Hub. - Knowledge of cloud, distributed, or mainframe testing environments.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in Dev Ops, CI/CD pipeline integration, and test environment management.
