Job Overview
RQ11142 - Sr. Cloud Application Specialist (1‑year 11‑month contract with possible extension, 5 days onsite at Jarvis, Toronto; location: 49 Place d’Armes, Kingston). Security Level: CRJMC.
Rate: 30% of the lowest per diem proposed to RFS/Specific Vendor per diem, multiplied by maximum points in resume evaluation.
Qualifications- Minimum 810+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud application development and engineering.
- Demonstrated recent expertise in Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, AKS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/Open Shift), and Dev Ops/automation tools (Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines).
- Experience in enterprise cloud architecture, security (IAM, encryption, compliance), data engineering (ETL/ELT, Azure data services), observability (monitoring/logging), and advanced Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Experience writing code to interact with RESTful APIs to replace manual processes (e.g., assigning IP addresses and DNS codes).
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines with integrated security (Dev Sec Ops ).
- Nice‑to‑have: public sector experience working on mainframe/legacy systems.
- Must know at least one programming language and be proficient in that language.
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing, networking, and virtualization/hypervisor techniques.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle from business systems analysis through functional specification.
- Ability to troubleshoot code, modify existing software, consult with engineering staff, and develop performance requirements.
- Team player with proven track record for meeting deadlines; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Create applications served on the cloud and develop the software platform to run on virtual systems.
- Fine‑tune the final program after creation.
- Facilitate IT development, design, construction, testing, promotion, and implementation of web‑based/n‑tier, cloud‑based, and mainframe applications for work streams.
- Develop integrated solutions for online transactional processing and integration using a combination of cloud technologies.
- Integrate any open‑source software (OSS) products into new and existing systems.
- Prepare systems response documents, technical specifications, application inventory, and implementation plans.
- Prepare test plans, test data, and conduct unit testing of programs.
- Prepare implementation plans and lead program promotion.
- Support system documentation and respond to client queries and production incident troubleshooting.
- Participate in design walkthroughs and test case/result walkthroughs.
- Support testing of changes by other team members.
- Weekly report on status, progress, and key issues to Project Lead/Project Manager or Portfolio Manager.
- Transfer skills and knowledge to selected OPS staff.
Inc. T4 Rate Range (7.25 billable hours per day): $70.68/hr - $84.82/hr.
Inc. Rate Range (7.25 billable hours per day): $88.34/hr - $106.03/hr.
Note:
The higher end of the range is intended for absolutely exceptional candidates who meet all must‑have requirements and most or all nice‑to‑have qualifications.
The client will evaluate candidates based on both rate expectations and overall skill set when shortlisting.
