Cloud Platform Engineer

We are currently seeking competent individuals to fulfill the role of Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team for our client, one of the major banks.

Location Address:
Hybrid - 2 days in office

Subject to change: 3–4 days onsite may be required based on business needs

Contract Duration:
ASAP to Oct 31,2026 – approx. 3 months

Strong possibility of extension for another year

Possibility and desire for conversion to FTE

• Collaborate with business lines and Digital Banking stakeholders, including Development, Systems Testing, Release Management, Security, and Cloud Engineering teams, to plan, design, and implement technology solutions.
• Deliver project milestones and technology initiatives aligned with approved product roadmaps and organizational priorities.
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance cloud platforms, services, and automation components that support enterprise‑wide adoption of public cloud technologies.
• Build and maintain scalable CI/CD solutions using modern Dev Ops tools and best practices.
• Support the integration of security, compliance, and governance controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while ensuring solutions meet quality, performance, reliability, and security standards.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to manage scope, risks, resource requirements, and project dependencies.
• Contribute to the evolution of enterprise Dev Ops platforms through innovation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and support junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
• Develop well‑designed, efficient, maintainable, and testable code following software engineering best practices.
• Gather, analyze, and refine technical requirements and specifications.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for platforms, processes, and solutions.

You will work on strategic initiatives that impact hundreds of development teams across the organization, building the next generation of Dev Ops platforms, developer tooling, and cloud‑native delivery solutions. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of modern technologies while collaborating with experienced engineers in a highly innovative environment.

• 1) 5+ years’ experience in software engineering, development, cloud engineering, Dev Ops, Platform Engineering, with technical working experience developing and/or supporting multi‑platform based applications and infrastructure.
• 2) 3+ of recent experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GKE
• 3) Hands‑on experience with at least 2 of the following technologies (in order of preference):
  Java Gradle, NodeJS, Typescript, Python, Golang, Java Maven
• 4) Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Cloudbees, Git Hub, Git Hub Actions, Argo)

  Experience with cloud technologies:
  GCP (preferred), would accept Azure as well
• 2) Experience building large‑scale IAC‑based deployments in Terraform (or Open Tofu)
• 3) Knowledgeable with policy‑as‑code and deployment gating concepts

• Meticulous attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills – fluency in English is expected
• High integrity and discretion with sensitive financial data
• Self‑starter with a collaborative mindset and time management prowess

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Cloud certifications are an asset (GCP, Azure)
