What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our Capital Markets digital platform team. You will own the discovery, design, and delivery of foundational platform capabilities—including APIs, microservices, integrations, shared services, and data layer components—that serve the Multi Asset Trade Analytics (MATA) platform and related products. This role sits at the intersection of product management and solution architecture, requiring you to define what the platform builds, how it composes across products, and the delivery sequence.
You will work closely with the Head of Engineering, product managers owning individual products, and architecture leadership. This is a growth role where you'll initially operate within architectural guardrails set by senior leadership and progressively assume full architecture authority as you build platform expertise and organizational trust.
- Own the roadmap for shared platform capabilities—APIs, microservices, integrations, shared services, data layer, and foundational components consumed across MATA and related products.
- Define solution approaches across the APIs and microservices powering the platform, owning the technical strategy that enables scalability and adaptability to evolving business needs.
- Translate complex regulated enterprise business and operational requirements into comprehensive end-to-end technical solutions, with emphasis on designing reusable, scalable core components that reduce technical debt and accelerate future development.
- Facilitate and contribute to architecture discussions, translating business needs from product managers into technical requirements and solution options.
- Assess cross-product demand, prioritize foundational builds based on platform-wide impact, and manage tradeoffs across competing stakeholders and constraints around scope, time, and quality.
- Build and iterate technical prototypes to validate solution approaches, test critical assumptions, and assess integration feasibility before full-scale delivery, thereby reducing execution risk.
- Partner with engineering and architecture teams on solution design for new capabilities, ensuring consistency, scalability, alignment with platform strategy, and informed technical tradeoffs.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process and workflow improvements through value stream analysis.
- Own the product backlog structure and delivery sequencing, ensuring technical dependencies and constraints are clearly mapped and the overall solution intent remains visible to all stakeholders.
- Document platform architecture decisions, integration patterns, and capability maps to create shared understanding across product and engineering teams.
- Serve as the connective layer between individual product managers and the engineering organization on platform-level work.
- Evaluate build versus buy decisions for new platform capabilities and present recommendations with supporting analysis.
- Collaborate with the program manager on governance and controls implications of platform changes.
- Communicate tradeoff decisions transparently across all stakeholder groups, enabling informed decision-making and maintaining alignment.
- 3–5 years of experience in technical product management, solutions architecture, or a hybrid engineering/product role.
- Systems thinking: demonstrated ability to reason about component interactions, dependencies, and cross-product impact.
- Technical fluency: comfortable reading architecture diagrams, engaging in design discussions, and challenging engineering assumptions without needing to write production code.
- Experience prioritizing under ambiguity with multiple competing stakeholders.
- Strong structured communication—able to translate technical complexity into business terms and vice versa.
- Collaborative working style with ability to influence without positional authority.
- Experience working on platform, API, or developer‑experience products.
- Familiarity with architectural patterns such as event‑driven systems, microservices, or domain‑driven design.
- Capital markets or financial…
