Senior Backend Engineers at Lotus Flare replace traditional business back ends with an engagement‑centric, dynamic product stack. They further develop, secure, and scale the back‑end infrastructure to support the platform for millions of concurrent API calls. Every engineer is an integral part of the global engineering team and is directly responsible for more than half a million users of our platforms, working on mission‑critical, highly available distributed systems.
- Your day normally starts with a daily meeting/standup/quick sync‑up.
- Your daily responsibilities cover the entire software cycle—from development and testing to code reviews, and code/application maintenance on production.
- You collaborate closely with product and other functional engineering teams.
- You dedicate time to collaborate with teammates, asking questions or providing answers.
- You take ownership of the code you write.
- A BA/BS in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience would be a plus.
- 5‑7+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying highly scalable and secure web services in production environments.
- We use a language‑agnostic approach, working with Node.js, Lua, and Scala; experience with Java, Python, Golang, C++, or similar is welcome.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, performance optimization, and fault tolerance.
- In‑depth knowledge of distributed systems concepts (consistency, fault tolerance, consensus algorithms).
- Mastery of RESTful API design principles. Experience with API gateways, API documentation tools, and API security.
- Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS) and their impact on application performance and security.
- Strong understanding of concurrency models and their trade‑offs.
- Experience handling concurrency challenges in high‑traffic environments.
- Advanced data‑modeling skills in both SQL and No
SQL databases. - Hands‑on experience with a wide range of cloud platforms and technologies, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless computing, and other Dev Ops tools.
